At the time the generator was purchased it was purely for backup purposes.

Since 2022 load shedding increased this causing us to make more frequent use of the generator, making the generator no longer a backup as its intended use but a daily requirement.
This brings us to 2023 where load shedding was becoming a national crisis and the running of the generator had become a daily need, increasing our diesel purchases, more required services, and overall expenses.
By purchasing Solar Power, we did not only save costs but also have our generator as a backup as per its original intended use.
Installing Solar Power at our facility was not only cost efficient but will also guarantee no business interruption or damaged equipment from power outages.
Our Generator will once again be used as a backup and not be a permanent solution as this could cause a potential breakdown, leaving Ten-e with no power.
In 5 years’, time we will have paid off the solar, having full ownership and being able to save that amount monthly.
